Class of '09

So I hope you all had a wonderful New Years!! Mine was amazing fun. I spent it with my mom, her friends and me in 60 years. haha no really this old woman looked and acted exactly like me from the way she wore her hair, to the clothes on her back (uh-oh hehe) and was the most achingly sweet person i've ever known in my entire life. Shes shy and quiet like me and so she spoke real gentle and wrapped me in a blanket with her stiff body and soothed me with her eyes. She told me stories of when she lived in LA and would go walking at night after she put her children to bed and would make friends with different gang members. they would even help her across the street when the light wouldn't stop....honestly the closest thing i've ever had to a grandmother.

Today was spent putting away Christmas decor, reading all the poetry i could grab at the cafe and strolling up and down the san diego seaport. it was freezing and dark and i just wanted to be in the moment so i didn't invite my camera but it was really serene. There was a thick blanket of fog hovering over the harbor and tons of girlfriends wrapped up in their boyfriends arms, sipping coffee and watching people watch them. I enjoyed the whole experience. I bought a book too. "The Perks of Being a Wallflower". So I'm going to go read that. I'm going to read more this year :) Reccomendations would be appreciated.

P.S. I'm a sucker for a love story

Isn't it great when you find someone you identify with?

Besides, I want to read The Magic Mountain by Thomas Mann. It has very good critics.

let me know if you like Perks of Being a Wallflower... some have told me it's the best book they've ever read, and others have said they were disturbed by it.
